Tuesday Food Adventure

Yesterday, we went on a food adventure around Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

1. Skinny Mike's Sports Bar

We started off at Skinny Mike's Sports Bar and had their famous 10 peso wings. It was a little busy when we got there because it was lunch time (and I guess because of the promo - Tuesday wingday!) so we had to wait a while to be seated and for a waiter to serve us. I think it's worth it though. I mean, 10 peso wings?!!

In case it's too hot for you or you're just a heavy eater, you can get rice for P55. I did - for both reasons.

2. Stella

Afterwards, we went to Stella and ordered their S'mores pizza. This one's available for a limited time only so you should get it while you still can.

S'mores Pizza (P250)

The S'mores Pizza had peanut butter as its base, was topped with banana, marshmallow and M&M's, and had a sprinkle of cinnamon, if I'm not mistaken. It was good and I'm actually looking forward to creating something like it at home.

I loved the seats and the interior of Stella because it just seemed so summer-y. I tried taking pictures but I only got frustrated because I felt like I wasn't capturing the essence or beauty of it. Whatever.

3. Rocketroom

Right beside Stella is Rocketroom, and from where we were seated, we could see inside it. My friend Dj wanted to go there as well so once we finished our pizza, we transferred to Rocketroom. They're actually just one restaurant but Rocketroom's more of a bar while Stella's more of a sit-down for a meal kind of place.

We ordered Rocketroom's Bacon Tortilla Con Patata and Belvedere Watermelon Mojito.

Again (I'm sorry but), the seats and floortiles were nice! I don't know why I keep noticing those things lately...

4. Wildflour

We walked all the way to Wildflour for their famous cronuts but apparently, you now have to order them two days in advance so we just got what they had already baked. They also gave us some complimentary bread.

Apple Danish (P125), Nutella Scone (P110), Hazelnut Bomboloni (P90) and S'mores Cupcake (P120)

Their pastry was good and it made me reminisce my grade school days because the s'mores cupcake tasted like the beehive they used to sell in our school cafetorium. One thing led to another then we were talking about our school cafetorium pastry favorites. My favorite was the tuna turnover while for Mae, it was the corned beef turnover. I remember that since I'm usually early in school, I would go to the cafetorium for breakfast and while waiting for it, I'd just watch them make and bake pastries. Then I would get them for recess. :)

I loved the ambiance in Wildflour in general. It made me want to go there for brunch after a long night out, getting drunk. It just felt like a comfortable place to be in despite its location being in a busy spot of the city. It's like an escape from all the hustle and bustle.

5. Cupcakes by Sonja

We literally just dropped by Sonja's Cupcakes for Pat to get herself some lemonade.

By the way, is it pronounced as 'Son-jah' or 'Son-yah'??

6. Chez Karine Bakery

Right next to Sonja's Cupcakes is Chez Karine and I just had to get myself a macaron - it's not a phase for me. The other day I just came up with the idea of sandwiching ice cream in between a macaron but turns out they're already offering it in Chez Karine - yay! Of course I got it. For now they only have it in three flavors - vanilla bean, salted caramel, and dark chocolate.

I super loved this! You should all try it! I might be a bit biased though, but who doesn't love macarons or ice cream? :(

7. Magnum Manila Cafe

Really, the main reason why we went out was to finally go to Magnum Manila Cafe. Thankfully, the line was short when we arrived. We got the 'make your own' ice cream which is for take out. Then, we had to wait a few minutes to be seated (for dine in). We wanted to try all of they had to offer but that just seemed too much, especially considering we've been consuming sweets all day. So we ended up with just sharing the red velvet.

By this time, I already felt so 'umay' so I don't think I was able to appreciate it as much as I probably would have otherwise. I think they should offer coffee or just anything that can counter all the sweetness. I'm definitely coming back for more.

8. Slappy Cakes

After all the sweets we had, I just had to have some meat so we went to Slappy Cakes. Although it's known for the 'make your own pancake' thing, I actually have never tried it - there, at least; at home, I've done pancake art.

We got Pop's Pot Roast and Southern Fried Chicken Tenders. I loved the former from the last time I was there and it easily became a favorite but I swear the meat was a lot tastier before. I still loved the vegetables and mashed potato though, so it was still a win.

We planned on taking a cab home but much to our dismay, the line was long. Then Kat suggested we try the GrabTaxi app. We're not getting paid for any of this, but GrabTaxi's so amazing and convenient! We easily booked a cab, contacted the driver, and could see his current location. You guys should try it should you need to take a cab. You're going to need internet though to use the app, but some malls have some GrabTaxi representatives that could assist you.

To finish off the day, we dropped by Red Rock Nail Spa to have our nails done. This one's a personal favorite of mine. I don't really have much good experiences with nail salons. One way or another, I get hurt and I'm kind of sensitive so upon leaving, I almost always tell myself that that's the last time I'm getting a manicure/pedicure. But among the nail salons I've tried, Red Rock Nail Spa has given me a very good impression. They're always so gentle - like they really handle you with care -, and the place is spacious. I just hope they have more colors to choose from. I wanted to get mint green but they didn't have it. But they did have Pixie Dust! So I got that instead. As usual though, I managed to ruin my nails in about two minutes.

I went home broke but at least I was happy?
